Smashed Turnips



4 large turnips
1/2 cup skim milk
2 tablespoons butter


Yield: 8 servings

Wash, peel and quarter turnips. In a large pot, place turnips and cover with water. Bring to a boil and cook 30 to 40 minutes or until tender. Remove turnips from heat and drain. In a large mixing bowl, mash turnips. Add milk and butter. Continue to mash until turnips reach desired consistency.
