Description: Pomegranates provide and excellent source of vitamin C and vitamin K. Vitamin C is an antioxidant that may reduce your risk of heart disease and certain cancers. Vitamin C helps protect skin from bruising, helps heal cuts and keeps gums healthy. Eating foods with vitamin C helps the body absorb iron. Vitamin K helps build and maintain strong bones. Pomegranates also provide potassium, fiber, and folate. otassium helps maintain healthy blood pressure, and fiber helps control cholesterol and keeps you regular. Folate may reduce your risk of heart disease. Eating foods with folate before pregnancy helps lower the risk of delivering a baby with neural tube defects.

Selection: Select pomegranates that are heavy for size, round and plump.

Storing: Store whole pomegranates in a cool dry area for 1 month. Store in refrigerator for up to 2 months.
