Selection: Select firm bananas that are slightly green on stem and tip. Avoid choosing bananas with bruises. Bananas ripen after they are harvested.

Storing: Store unripe bananas at room temperature. Store ripe bananas in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks. The skin may turn black.
